They also coordinate their own efforts along with those of the California Department of Parks and Recreation and MDAS in presenting public astronomy programs on Mount Diablo.
The Mount Diablo Interpretive Association (MDIA) is an organization of volunteers who assist the California Department of Parks and Recreation in teaching the park visitors about the flora, fauna and geology of the mountain. MDIA assists in the development and maintenance of the programs and trails on the mountain. MDIA also publishes brochures and booklets to assist in interpreting the natural history of the mountain.
