I became interested in Astronomy in the mid 1960’s. as a teenager in
Albuquerque, New Mexico where the skies were dark, clear and steady. It
was an exciting time. We were flying to the Moon and planets! I belonged
to a “Moonwatch” team that tracked satellites.
Today, I am a power plant technician residing in Clayton , California.
Bay area skies aren’t so dark anymore but my interest hasn’t waned and
CCD imaging can help overcome the pervading light pollution.
I currently use a Meade 10” LX200 telescope with a Starlight Xpress MX7C
one-shot color camera for imaging. I also utilize Starlight Xpress’
auto-guiding system. The telescope is permanently mounted in a small
roll-off-roof observatory in my backyard.
Although I’m a newcomer to CCD imaging, I can tell I’m already “hooked”.
